In the Cold Rain – A Mother Never Leaves Her Children

On a gloomy afternoon, under pouring rain, a passerby heard faint cries coming from behind a rusty fence on the outskirts of the city. As they approached, they were heartbroken by what they saw — a skinny, soaked mother dog, covered in mud, using her body to shield six trembling, hungry puppies from the cold.

The mother looked up at the stranger with eyes full of fear and hope — the eyes of a mother who had nothing left, yet still fought to protect her children.

She didn’t bark. She didn’t run. She simply leaned in closer to cover her pups each time she heard a sound. Despite her own hunger, she didn’t eat the food right away — instead, she gently pushed each bite toward her puppies.

When the rescue team arrived, it took nearly 30 minutes to gain the mother’s trust. Only then did she allow them to gently lift her babies. The entire little family was brought to a shelter, where they were wrapped in soft blankets, fed warm food, and dried with loving care.

Weeks later, the mother dog’s fur began to shine once again. Her puppies grew strong and playful, running around the shelter with wagging tails and bright eyes.

The mother was named Luna, meaning “moonlight” — a symbol of light in the darkest night. One by one, her puppies found new forever homes, where they would never be abandoned again.
